We’re excited to announce the release of the LibCommon project’s first major publication: Overview of the Relevant Literature. This collaborative report lays the theoretical foundation for reimagining libraries and universities as commons-based, participatory environments that foster inclusive education, civic engagement, and democratic innovation.
The document explores how institutions can shift from traditional knowledge transmission to community-driven co-creation, highlighting key concepts such as educational commons, participatory design, and the evolving role of libraries in promoting equity and active citizenship.
